(THROW BACK THURSDAYS) Sebastien Tellier La Ritournelle – Well it’s Thursday, and here at the Switch Scene we’ve decided to post up tunes that inspired us back in the day. I remember listening to this for the first time when i was doing my second year of college. It was one of the featured tracks on the Marsha late night show on Xfm, must’ve been about 2am and i was listening to this track on my headphones thinking – fuck me this is literally incredible. It wasn’t one of those tracks i ever rinsed either, i’d listen to it once, then forget about it, then listen to it again a few months later and still have the same love for it that i had when i first heard it.

Rihanna Stay Marius Hörsturz Edit – Weell, it looks like we’ve got a Cyril Hahn wannabe on our hands here, Marius Hörsturz has remixed a Rihanna track and to be fair it’s not that bad, i like what he’s done with the track even though it’s very simple. He gets the mood just right and the pitched down vocals really lend well to the airy nature of the track. You can find download this track for free from here

Lion Babe Treat Me Like Fire Star Slinger Remix – Well how weird is this, i just featured this track on the blog last night and i woke up this morning and low and behold, Star Slinger pops up on my Soundcloud sound stream with a great sounding garage/breaks remix of the same track! Check it out

Lion Babe Treat Me Like Fire – American artist from New York, im liking Lion Babe, it’s easy for rnb artists nowadays to fall into the whole dance rnb scene to make a cheap buck but not this girl. The beat might be understated but the message certainly aint. Lion Babe, berr fierce!

The Hypnotic Eye Satisfaction – I thought i would do a feature on my home mate’s (Matt Edwards) band The Hypnotic Eye. I just came across an article on them from the Huffington Post (found here) and all i can say is im very proud of them! It’s nice to see that the bands slowly gathering some momentum, getting appreciation from the likes of Mark Ronson of all people. Hopefully this year they can break into the mainstream here in the UK after they record a new album. Bit dissapointed Matt decided not to be in the video though, he is a tad bit shy i geuss haha.
